Summary: SQ₈ is a new type compound germicide and algaecide developed and produced by the plant, displaying strong exterminating and controlling effects against germs, fungus and algae existing in water, also having function of anti-corrosion. In the past years, it has been widely used in petroleum, chemical, fertilizer and feed water system of oil field, approved to be a high-efficient, broad-spectrum, conveniently used, safe germicide and algaecide with good effect.

        1) SQ₈ is orange water-soluble liquid, flash point 50 C.deg. specific gravity 0.97, PH=5, its chemical property is stable.
       2) Toxicity: Rat LD50 = 280mg/kg, middle toxic; no catastrophe to TA98, TA100. Fish: Africa crucian carp TLM 5.75mg/L(96 hours), silver carp TLM 2.27mg/kg(96 hours), middle toxic to fish.
       3) Toxicity of degraded matter: SQ₈ will be degraded under certain concentration and reaction. Add SQ8(30ppm) and anti-incrustation corrosion inhibitor into recycling water to make its PH 6.5-10, recycle 24 hours without discharging waste, and then take a sample to test its toxicity to fish, the result: survival rate of silver carp fry is 100% after 96 hours. The content of degraded matter in discharged waste water is low enough to meet state standard.

       1) displaying good effect of germicide and algaecide, with long effective period. (used and proved by Guangzhou General Petrochemical Factory, Anqing General Petrochemical Factory that)SQ₈ kills nitrobacteria and sulfobacteria at the rate of 99%, also kill other bacteria with good effect and long preventive period. Used and proved by Oil Field and mining industry . SQ8 will exterminate sulfate reductive bacteria effectively and remove the resistance of sulfuric bacteria against dodecyl-dimethyl- benzyl- aniline chloride .
       2) anti-corrosion. It is proved that after adding SQ₈.waster water will be decreased 80%
       3) stripping clay
       4) after adding SQ₈ into feed water of oil field, the surface tension of water will be decreased, helpful to increase permeability of core; clay will be prevented from expanding, helpful to the stability of feed water.
       5) SQ₈ will gradually degrade under certain concentration and reaction to make discharge safe.

For recycling cooling water system, impact adding method is adopted, namely when content of bacteria and algae is higher than standard, add SQ₈ to water in corporation, dosage is 20ppm-30ppm. It is suggested that after added, discharge shall be stopped for 24 hours to get better effect of germicide and safe discharge. For feeding water of oil field, it is concluded that during feeding, SQ₈ shall be added to water in proportion(50ppm-80ppm) according to different situation. SQ8 can be used with phosphoric water stabilizer, or alternatively used with chlorine gas.

       1) concentration shall not be higher than 20000ppm, or crystal will be precipitated.
       2) It is toxic, a little irritate to skin. After using, stained part of human body shall be washed by soap.
       3) SQ₈ contains inflammable matter, so pay attention to safe operation when using and storing. It should be sealed and stored in cool and dry places.
