Physical & chemical properties White, hard lump at room temperature, translucent. The wax can be converted to yellow under the influence of UV. Crystal structure, almost tasteless and odorless, greasy feel. Soluble in ether, petroleum ether, benzene and volatile oil, etc. Insoluble in water and ethanol. Slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol. Relative density 0.88~0.915, combustible.
Use GB 2760-96 provisions allow for the use of gum base, limited 50.0g/kg. Abroad also use in the anti-sticking in glutinous rice paper productin, dosage 6g/kg. Widely used in food packaging material moisture-proof, anti-sticking and anti-oil. Suitable for food chewing gum, bubble gum and other components, wax made by heat carrier, stripping, lighting and other direct contact with food and drug, and products made by petroleum or shale oil cold pressing, etc.
