INTRODUCTION
OXIDATION
INHIBITOR 168
Chemical name: Three (2,4-ditert-butyl)phosphorous
acid ester
Molecular formula: C42H63O3P, MW: 646.9
(¢ñ)Appearance: White drawn crystal powder,
not soluble less than 0.01% in water, slightly
soluble in gasoline, benzene, methylbenzene, acetone.
(¢ò)Toxicity: Half lethal dose for a white
mouse to take orally LD50£¾6000mg/kg.
(¢ó)Application: It is commonly accepted
that for polyolefin products is to add in them
oxidation inhibitor in the early stage of their
production.
Oxidation inhibitor 168 is a processing auxiliary
which has strong capability to resist hydrolysis.
When it is used with the main oxidation inhibitor
1010, 1076,1330 or 3114 at the specified ratio,
it will play a good co-operative role, capturing
radicals in the polyolefin and cause the hydrogen
peroxide to be resolved into products without
radicals so that the melt index may be stabilized
during process and the ageing of polyolefin will
be retarded.
In addition to being applied to polyolefin, this
product may be also used in polystyrene, polycarbonate
and polyamide for enhancing their stability.

(¢õ)Packing
The oxidation inhibitors produced by this company
may be packed in multiplayer paper and plastic
compound bags or fibre-board cylinders lined with
plastic bags upon the clients'requst. The net
weight of each bag or cylinder is 25¡À0.25kg.
(¢ö)Storage
Attention shall paid to avoid too much squeezing
and pressing of the goods, keeping them from rain,
moisture and direct sunshining during transport
and storage. They shall not be mixed with other
materials. Oxidation inhibitor 168 shall be used
up within one year after delivery.
