Description: |
DL-Methionine occurs as white crystalline platelets or powder. One gram
dissolves in about 30 mL of water. It is soluble in dilute
acids and in solutions of alkali hydroxides. It is very
slightly soluble in alcohol, and practically insoluble in
ether. It is optically inactive. The pH of 1:100 aqueous
solution is between 5.6 and 6.1.
