Function comparison of the albendazole family product
Albendazole:
It is a broad-spectrum anthelmintics for humans and animals. It works by interfering with proteins in either the worm’s intestine or absorptive cells. This leads to the worm not being able to absorb sugar (glucose), which are essential for its survival. Therefore the energy stores of the worm are depleted, and this leads to its eventual death within several days.
It is used to treat Hydatid disease (echinococcosis) and infection of the nervous system caused by pork tapeworms (neurocysticercosis), also for Hookworm, Ascariasis, Whipworm and Strongyloidiasis.
Albendazole Sulphoxide:
After albendazole(ABZ) is administered, intestinal and hepatic albendazole metabolism leads to albendazole sulfoxide (active metabolite) and albendazole sulfone (inactive metabolite) formation. The metabolism albendazole sulfoxide effects as the active substance against the worms, albendazole sulfone has no active affection.
Albendazole Sulphoxide HCL:
It is the HCL of Albendazole Sulphoxide, soluable in water, suitable for making water soluble dosage.
