【Abstract】A kind of precursor was prepared by cova-lently bonding 4-tert-butylbenzoic acid to (3-amin-opropyl) triethoxysilane. Then the precursor and tet-raethoxysilane were used to form hybrid materials by a sol-gel process. IR, UV, NMR, phosphorescence and fluorescence spectra were used to characterize the hybrids. The hybrids show strong characteristic emission of rare earth ions which derived from the inner-molecular energy transfer from organic ligands.
