2-Methylimidazole is white or light yellow columm crystal, m.p. 136?(142-143?), b.p. 267?, soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in cold benzene. As intermediate of metronidazole, it can be used as curing agent of epoxy resins and other resins.
