STRUCTURAL FORMULA :

PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES : Pure product is a withe crystalline
powder; m.p. 98-101oC, v.p. 0.002 mPa (25oC). Solubility (20 oC), 0.002ppm water; 50% acetone; 45% benzene; 25% xylene, 90% dioxane; 1.5% ethanol; Stable on exposure to air and sunlight, stable in acid media, unstable in alka-line media.

TOXICOLOGY : Acute oral LD50: for rats 128 mg/kg (male), 138 mg/kg
(female), Acute percutaneous LD50 for rats and rabbits > 2000mg/kg. High toxict for fish, fish toxicity LC50 (96-h): for bluegill 0.001 ppm; for rainbow trout 0.006-0.008 ppm; for honeybees LD50 50 ng/bee, however in normal conditions outdoors it is harmless to honeybees, but fish and bees are not harmed under normal conditions of use. Low toxict
to birds. ADI for man 0.01mg/kg body weight.

USES : A potent insecticide, effectively by contact and ingestion against a wide range of pests. Crop protection uses include: Coleoptera (2.5-7.5g/ha), Lepidoptera (5.0-12.5g/ha), Homoptera (6.2-12.5g/ha) and Thysanoptera (5-10g/ha) in cereals, citrus, cotton, grapes, maize, oilseed rape, Soya beans, top fruit and vegetables. It controls Acridities (5.0-12.5g/ha), and is recommended against locusts. Soil surface sprays (2.5-5.0g/ha) control Noctuidae. It is used against indoor crawling and flying insects (12.5mg/m2).
