PAM-CA is hydrolyzed and coplymerized by vinylamide and cationic
vinylacrylamide monomers. IR analysis indicates that carboxyl group(negatively
charged) and vinyl group(positively charged) coexist on the PAM-CA
chains. It is an amphoteric polymer with irregular configuration.
Main application:
- PAM-CA is a good profile control agent or water shut-off agent
in oil drilling. It is more effective than any other ionic agent.
- PAM-CA is the newest flocculant for water treatment. It has
been proved that in many cases combined use of PAMA and PAMC is
more effective than use of either one. Generally combined use
of PAMA and PAMC is needed to treat high surface tension samples,
but improper use of the oppositely charged PAM may lead to white
precipitates, thus rendering failure of treatment. PAM-CA is an
ideal choice in this situation.It is simple, efficient and does
not form precipitates. It is especially suitable for complicated
or changing water samples.
- PAM-CA is more effective sludge dehydrating agnet than any other
ionic PAM. Dehydrating agents are facing challenge that composition
of waste water has become more and more complicated. Ionic PAM
has been losing effects. PAM-CA that we provide has been proved
to be more applicable, in dehydrating sludge from oil refinery
and chemical plants.
- PAM-CA is more advantageous in papermaking than any other ionic
PAM, especially as retention and filtration agents. It can increase
the filtration speed and reduce the loss of fibres. It can also
improve the smoothness and strength and help reduce side difference
of paper.
