Sulfur-Coated Urea (SCU) is a controlled-release nitrogen fertilizer with a guaranteed analysis of 37-0-0 and 17% sulfur.
By coating urea with sulfur, an essential nutrient in its own right, makes controlled-release possible. Typically, sulfur-coated urea lasts from eight to 12 weeks, depending on environmental conditions. A sustained, slow release of sulfur and nitrogen helps the uptake of other nutrients essential for growth, color and disease resistance. The slow-release process reduces the number of applications and prevents potential plant injury due to over-application or overlapped coverage of more soluble forms of nitrogen.
To boost nitrogen, other producers of sulfur-coated urea add a harder, more brittle coating. Our solution is a tougher, more pliable "second skin." Sulfur-coated urea (SCU) from our manufacture is produced in a continuous process that sprays preheated urea granules with molten sulfur.
