Weishi Customised Oily Premixes

Vitamin components
Vitamin A:
vitamin A acetate
vitamin A palmitate
vitamin A propionate

Vitamin D:
vitamin D2
vitamin D3

Vitamin E:
Vitamin E acetate
DL-a-tocopherol
Vitamin K1
Betacarotene

Description:
The oily vitamin blends vary in viscosity, and in colour from yellow to orange, depending on their composition. Blends that contain beta-carotene tend towards orange.

Vitamin A crystallizes out of the mixture if it is stored at low temperatures, but the crystals redissolve by heating slowly to about 40°C. This is also the optimum temperatures for processing.

Composition:
We manufacture blends of the above vitamins in the proportions required by the customer. Vegetable oils are used as carrier. The standard oil used is sun flower oil, though others can be used on request.

Solubility:
Soluble in a wide range of organic solvents. Insoluble in water. The solvents should contain no peroxides.

Specification:
Assay: min.100% of the declared content of each vitamin

Monographs:
All the vitamins used comply with the relevant monographs in one or more of the main internat pharmacopoeias, i.e. USP, Ph, Eur. and FCC.

Stabilization/Stability:
The oily vitamin blends are available stabilized with DL-a-tocopherol (E307) or butylhydroxytoluene (BHT, E321), or unstabilized. The products are stable for up to 24 months if they are stored in the unopened original containers at 5°C.

Applications:
Particularly suitable for fortifying food products with a high fat content, e.g. margarine, spreads, edible oils, mayonnaise, salad dressings, cheese spreads etc.

The vitamin blends are easy to incorporate in the fatty phase of the food product as they are miscible in all proportions with all oils and fats.

Examples include:
Milk and milk products
The vitamin blend is emulsified in the milk
Breakfast cereals
The vitamin blend is sprayed onto the product
Products based on dried milk
Prior to drying, the vitamin blend is emulsified in the milk

Regulations:
The use of the oily vitamin blends is subject, in many countries, to different regulations that restrict the quantities of vitamins and tbutylhydroxytoluene stabilizer that may be added to food products.

Packaging … 1-5kg aluminium flask, 25-50kg tinplate drum
Storage …Because some of the fatsoluble vitamins are sensitive to light, heat, moisture and oxygen, the oily blends should be kept cool and dry in a tightly closed container. It is recommend to use up the contents of a container as quickly as possible, once it has been opened.
Shelf life …24 months

Note:
The oily vitamin blends must be heated to 60°C in the closed container and homogenized prior to use or sampling, as some of the vitamin A may have crystallized out during storage.
The oily vitamin blends must be handled in accordance with the respective Safety Data Sheet.
