Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate
Molecular formula: FeSO4.7H2O.
Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate, also called copperas, is a blue-green, monoclinic crystals; soluble in water, melts at 64 C. It is commercially generated as a by-product during the manufacture of Titanium Dioxide.
In industry,it is used to make ferric salt, ink iron oxide red and indigo-blue, as mordant, tanning,water purification,preservative of wood and disinfectant etc. In agriculture,it is for fertilizer,weedicide,pesticide treating wheat smut etc..
