Founded in 1971, Lanzhou Xiwei Vinylon Industry Co.,Ltd. (herinafter called LV), subordinate to Gansu Agriculture Cultivating General Company, is the only large-sized manufacturers of vinylon in Northwest China, and one of most important manufacturing base for the chemicals and chemical fiber in Ganshu province, occupying an areage of 646,000sqm, in which 202,000 is devoted to construction area. LV is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River along the bank. It has special raillines, to connect with the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway and the Lanzhou-Qinghai Railway to the south and roads and the lanzhou-Xinjiang Highway and the Lanzhou-Qinghai Highway to the north, and it's only 45km awary from the Langzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province.

  Meanwhile LV has 10 independant subordinates affiliated to it with total assets of 987,000,000 RMB. It employs over 4,000 directly, 617 of which are technicians, to ensure a powerful techical backup.

   The major products and production capacity are :50,000t of calcium carbide, 25,000t of PVA, 9,000 tons of VAC, 8,000t of PVA high-strength high modulus fiber and medium-strength and modulus fiber series. We are also equiped with one water power plant with installed-capacity of 9,000 kwh, supplying 175 tons steam per hour, and capable of processing 320t/h, as well as auxiliary projects of substantial scale, such as machine, electricity, instrumentation and gas supply etc. 7.2 k designated railway and one self-furnished diesel Locomotive are also set up. Approved by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic in July 1993, it has won the right of self-run imp/exporting. By the end of 2001, its accumulated foreign exchange revenue has amounted to as much as 14 million US$, and emerged as one of the biggest foreign exchange collectors in Gansu province.

  Both the calcium carbide and PVA are the winners of the qualifed product in Gansu Province, in addition of being the "satisfied product ranking by the customers in Gansu province". PVA high and middle-strength, and water soluble fibre are confered the title "Longhuo Exquisite Product" by Gansu provincial government. In Dec.1998, LV smoothly won the certificate of ISO9002 quality system and the Accreditation of Product Quality.

  The sales network of LV covers many contries and places across the globe, including but not limited to Eastern and Western Europe, South America, North America and Asia, especially occupying up to 100% marketshares in Italy, and meanwhile take initiative to enter into the brandnew market- Brazil.
