| Chemtura to Raise Elemental Bromine Pricing |
MIDDLEBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 2005--Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) today announced it will increase worldwide delivered bulk elemental bromine pricing to a minimum of $2000/MT, effective October 1, 2005, where contracts allow. Concurrent with the increase Chemtura will no longer offer price change notification terms longer than 30 days.
Anne Noonan, Vice President & General Manager of Flame Retardants and Brominated Performance Products, stated, "Increased elemental bromine demand continues and the need to recover investment in production facilities and infrastructure is critical. Bromine and bromine derivatives require on-going advocacy and enhanced product stewardship. We believe this increase is required to sustain these efforts." |
