Properties : Colorless transparent monoclinic prismatic crystal, relative density 1.52. Soluble in water, and the solution is alkalescent, PH of 1% water solution is 8.8-9.2. Insoluble in alcohol. Easily effloresces in air , losts 5 hydrates and form heptahydrate(Na2HPO4.7H2O).
Application: Used as water softener for boiler, flame retardant for textile, wood and paper; as mordant for cleaning agent, as stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide bleaching in dyeing and printing industry, weighting agent in fabric, material of other phosphates,etc.
