Production of 30,000 tons Strontium carbonate and 10,000 tons thiourea. This project has been listed in 2001 national technological innovation plan and is in the construction.

     Project of 160,000T corn's deep processing, which has been listed in 2001 national key technological innovation plan. It is in the stage of engineering drawing design.

     In 2001, Ningxia Pingluo Sugar-refinery was completely purchased by Darong. Now the project of 160,000T corn's deep process is being planned. It makes Darong begin to tap into the field of biochemical and push the process of industrialization of local agriculture.

     In 2000, Darong acquired Dawukou hotel. A three-star Rongyuan International Hotel is in the design.

     In 1998, Hunan Chemicals & Pesticide Factory became the holding company of Darong and was renamed as Hunan Darong chemicals & Pesticide Co.,Ltd. It is mainly producing Barium Carbonate, Strontium Carbonate, Thiourea, Superfine Aluminum hydroxide etc.

New products developed by Darong are as follows:

Crystal cyanamide

White diamond, flaky, powdery crystal, molecular formula: H₂CN₂, melting point: 45 , density: 1.069g/cm³, easily soluble in water, carbinol, ethanol, normal butyl alcohol. Mainly used as the raw material of intermediates of organic synthesis, medicine, pesticide etc. As intermediates, it can be used to make O-methylisourea hydrogen sulfate, creatine, guanidine phosphate etc. As raw material of medicine, it can be used to make flucytosine, a kind of anti-cancer medicine. As the raw material of pesticide, it is used to make weedicide and germicide with low toxicity and no residue.
