Magnesium sulfate (Bitter salt )
Bitter salt, also named Epsom salt and
sal amarum, molecular structure:MgSO47H2O,
molecular weight: 246.48
Bitter salt with "Jinxing" brand
is white or colorless crystal, odorless, soluble in water and little
soluble in ethanol,and takessulfuric acid and natural magnesium
ore as its raw materials. In air, it is liable to airslake into
powder,
and will lose crystal water if heated. Not containing any toxic
substance, it can be used for medicine, fertilizer, leather, printing,
pigment, porcelain, match, explosive, fireproof material and additives
for magnesium salts and feedstuff.
Bitter salt is a raw material for the production
of compounding fertilizer. Plant fed with magnesium compounding
fertilizer will grow 15-50% quicker than that fed with compounding
fertilizer without magnesium.
Bitter salt can be used to prepare medicines
such as cathartic, magnesium trisilicate and acetyl spiramycin etc.
In food industry, it can be used for lactic
acid and monosodium glutamate etc.
Also for dyestuff, weight solvent, and magnesium
stain.
In addition, it is used for sewage treatment
through precipitation.
