    Calumet Specialty Products, Inc., Indianapolis, IN has released its operating results for the first two quarters of 2007. As indicated, wax production in the first half year 2007 averaged 1,121 tbd, down results did not include wax production. The company reported that the decrease in volume compared to the refinery during the quarter. A comparison of results for wax production and sales for the years 2004, 2005, and 2006 is also provided as obtained from financial reports available from the company.

    The company also reported that progress continues on the capital improvement project at the Shreveport refinery which is expected to be substantially completed in the third quarter of 2007, with production ramping up during the fourth quarter of the year. The expansion should increase the refinery’s crude oil capacity by 40 percent over current levels. The expansion will add 6,000 bd of Group II base oil production plus 1,000 bd of wax capacity.
