    埃克森美孚是最大的石油蜡生产者，产量为9.2亿磅，占美国总产量的38%。该公司也是最大的成品蜡的厂家，产量为3.72亿，占美国总产量的41%。该公司两个炼油厂半成品蜡的产量为5.48亿磅，占全美蜡产量的37%。

    在加拿大共有4家公司5个加工型炼油厂生产石油蜡。在加拿大的总产量为7.54亿磅，包含1.55亿磅成品蜡和5.99亿磅半成品蜡。帝国石油公司（Imperial Oil）、加拿大石油公司及加拿大壳牌公司只生产半成品蜡。

加拿大国际集团（IGI）是加拿大唯一生产成品蜡的公司。该公司不进行石油精练和基础油生产，而是从加拿大其他炼油厂获得粗蜡和必要的脱油原料生产成品蜡。此外，公司有时也进口粗蜡和脱油原料来生产成品腊。拉丁美洲和加勒比海地区石蜡的产量没有变。

The Annual National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) Lubrication Oil and Wax Capacity Survey as of January 1, 2008 was recently released. Lubrication Oil capacity in the U.S. declined by 1.4 percent, from 221.9 kbd at the start of 2007 to 218.9 kbd at the start of 2008.
The decline in finished lube oil capacity was due to changes at two ExxonMobil refineries- a 500 bpd reduction at Baton Rouge and 2.5 tbpd at Beaumont.
At the start of 2008, there were 10 companies producing petroleum waxes in the U.S. at twelve refineries of locations. Capacity for petroleum waxes at the start of 2008 as reported to NPRA amounted to 2,398 million pounds, down slightly from that at the start of 2007. there are six companies with capacity to produce 909 million pounds of finished waxes at seven locations at the start of the year. Exxon Mobil reported a decline of 31 million pounds of finished waxes while IGI Group reported a decline of 10 million pounds for finished waxes.
There are ten companies with capacity to produce 1,489 million pounds of unfinished waxes at eleven locations at the start of 2008. ExxonMobil also reported a reduction of 31 million pounds of capacity for unfinished waxes at Beaumont. The survey also reported that Flying J reported capacity for 248 million pounds of unfinished waxes although it is believed that the company halted production of waxes in early 2007.
It is also noted that the NPRA survey did not report capacity for Sonneborn Refined Products but the company has confirmed production. By comparison, at the start of 1990 there were 18 companies producing petroleum waxes with 3,250 million pounds of capacity.
ExxonMobil is the largest producer of petroleum wax with a total of 920 million pounds, or 38 percent of the U.S. total. They are the largest producer of finished waxes at 372 million pounds, or 41 percent of U.S. total. The company has capacity to produce 548 million pounds of unfinished waxes at two refineries, or 37 percent of U.S. capacity for these waxes.
In Canada, there are four companies operating five refineries producing petroleum waxes. Total capacity in Canada was 754 million pounds comprised of 155 million pounds of finished waxes and 599 million pounds of unfinished waxes. Imperial Oil, Petro Canada and Shell Canada Products Co. only produce unfinished waxes.
International Group (IGI) is the only producer of finished waxes in Canada. The company does not refine petroleum or produce base oil, rather it obtains slack waxes from the other Canadian refiners and essentially deoils the material to produce finished waxes. In addition, the company at times imports slack wax and deoils the material to finished waxes. There were no capacity changes in Latin America and the Caribbean.
