Solubilization

(1) Hyaluronic Acid exhibits excellent biocompatibility and matching capacity. But Hyaluronic Acid has high molecular weight and viscosity, so it is slow to solubilize. The higher the molecular weight and viscosity, the slower it is to solubilize. The higher the molecular and concentration, the slower the solubilization will be. It is recommended that, through adding the Hyaluronic Acid powder slowly to the water at 50°C with stirring, the concentration of Hyaluronic Acid is 0.5-1.0% is commonlyused. In order to increase the speed of solubilization, making the powder separate entirely is usually needed. The stirring method of liquid is better as overfall in order to save the time of solubilization during the course of adding the powder. On the other hand, there is a little influence of high speed shearing on Hyaluronic Acid.

(2) Liquid: 1% solution Hyaluronic Acid need not to solubilize. When using, it is needed to wash the vessel in order to reduce the waste.

NOTES

1. Hyaluronic Acid should be solubilized in sterilized distilled or pure water to assure its transparency.

2. Hyaluronic Acid can be solubilized in water before adding other components, or made as solution and then added to solution containing other components.

3. For the system with strict technique requirement, a sudden drop of temperature will influence the granularity and shining of the product. It is suggested that the Hyaluronic Acid solution can be warmed up previously and then add it to the system.

4. Hyaluronic Acid is the nutrient-riched substance and easy to be contaminated. Once Hyaluronic Acid solubilized, it has better to be used up. If some solution is left, and some antiseptic in it and store it at low temperature. It is best to use it up as soon as possible.

5. Hyaluronic Acid is polyanion and has large amount of negative charge. So the Hyaluronic Acid should not be used together with cation emulgator or antiseptic at the same time. Failure to do so shall result in muddiness or sedimentation.
