How to add pre-gel

Resin with bad wetness systems (such as epoxy resin, polyester, alkyd) adapt to use pre-gel
(1)  Component of pre-gel: 87% solvent, 8-10% organic bentonite, and 3-4% polar activator.
(2)  Processing technology: solvent+ organic bentonite (mix and stir for 10 minutes, make it wet enough), then add the polar activator (stir 5 minutes and make it wet enough).

Usage

(1)  Resin with bad wetness systems such as epoxy resin, polyester, alkyd, acrylic resin, use compound with the surface active agent, and the thixotropic grind materials can be acceptable. operate as following process: add paint material (all kind of resin) and the solvent--add the organic bentonite pre--gel, stir enough --add the pigment, stir and disperse enough--dilute.
(2)  Resin with bad wetness systems, and non-thixotrpic grind materials. Operate as following process: Add the paint material and the solvent-- add surface active agent (if adopt) -- add the pigment (stir), make it disperse or grind to the needed granularity. -- add the pre-gel, disperse to the needed granularity-- dilute to the needed viscosity with balance.

How to add bentonite by dry powder

Resin with fine wetness systems, and the system can grow to be thixotropic structure during grind, we can add bentonite by dry powder directly.
(1)  While use surface activator and disperse pigment, system can grow to be thixotrpic structure during stir. operate according to following steps: add the paint material and solvent (then mix) --add the organic bentonite powder, stir with 10 minutes--add the polar active agent, stir 5-10 minutes--add surface active agent--add the pigment, stir and disperse to the needed granularity--dilute to the needed viscosity.
(2)  Resin with bad wetness systems such as epoxy resin, polyester, alkyd, acrylic resin, operate as the following process: add the solvent -- add organic bentonite powder(mix and stir 10 minutes, wet enough)--add the polar active agent (mix and stir 5-10 minutes, make it swell and disperse)--add resin and stir--add the surface active agent--add pigment, stir and disperse to the needed granularity--dilute to the needed viscosity.

Main points for use methods:

(1)  It need proper time span to shear( stir) before disperse enough in the solvent.
(2)  Polar additive would help the bentonite form into thixotropic gel (polar additive: 95% ethanol or 95% carbinol or 100% acetone, or 95% carbonic ally ester) the dosage is 30-50% of the organic clay.
(3)  Organic bentonite need sufficient moisture, it can't be too dry, usually the moisture should be about 3.5%. and the polar active agent doesn't suit for anhydrous. The best content should be 5% (95% polar active agent).
(4)  For the full disperse of pigment, the surface active agent should be added, but it should be add after the polar active agent, otherwise it will affect the disperse of organic clay. The organic clay dosage usually take 0.2-2% of the total system. To guarantee the full disperse of organic bentonite, the polar active agent should be added after enough wet of organic bentonite .the polar active agent can't be added at first.
(5)  The best shelf -life of YH serial organic bentonite is one year. Should be keep off moisture.
(6)  It was confirmed that the organic bentonite is harmless to the human by the FDA.
