Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose(MHEC)

Product properties and applications

1.Solubility: It is almost insoluble in hot water, acetone, ethanol, ether and toluene. Soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as the appropriate ratio of ethanol and water, alcohol and water, ethylene dichloride and so on. Solution has surface-active, transparent and stable performance. Solubility in water is not affected by PH value. It is not soluble in hot water but cold water, insoluble in most organic solvents. The surface treated products can disperse but not condense in cold water, dissolved slowly, but can be quickly dissolved by adjusting PH value to 8-10.
2.PH stability: PH value in the range of 2-12,  the viscosity changes slightly, however, over this pH range, viscosity will decrease.
3.MHEC has thickening, suspension, dispersion, adhesion, emulsification, film forming, water retention and other characteristics, and its water retention is better than the methyl cellulose (MC), Viscosity stability, anti-mildew property and dispersibility are better than hydroxyethyl cellulose dispersion (HEC).
Due to the important properties above, this product can be widely used in water-based latex paint, construction and building materials, printing inks, oil drilling and so on.
