The company only produced single product-Pentabromophenyl ether before 1998. And it has started to produce Bromoethane since 1998. At present, two products have been only operated in the province. Pentabromophenyl ether is a general, high effective and addition flame retardant, and has many features of small addition content, high melting point, stronginflaming retarding and high heat stability. It is widely used in rubber and plastic industry, and especially for electrical wire, cable and electronic products which are the inflaming retarding products forced by Fire Control Law. Annual output is only 1.400 tons because of limited geographic position. Products are mainly sold in Ningbo, Zhoushan, Wenzhou, etc. Demand of products exceeds supply.
Bromoethane is the key chemical basic raw material. It is called alkylating reagent in organic chemical products. It is mainly used in fuel, dye and other alkylating chemical products. It was produced to balance pentabromophenyl ether and byproduct was hydrobromic acid. Annual output is only 300 tons. But it was later developed in Xiaoshan, Shaoxing, etc. Exported volume is growing.
