Phgsichemical properties:
Before activating, Raney nickel catalyst is of silver grey amorphous powder and middle degree of Hammability. After activating, Ni-Al powder will be turned into a grey black covered with absorbed hydrogen, The aetivated catalyst must be stored under water(or aclohol) to proect them from oxidation.
Application:
Raney Ni is popularly used in medicine, dyes spice, grease, fiber and etc. For its excellent hydrogenation of nitro to amines., carbonyl group to alcohol, nitriles to amines, defins to alkanes, and it is also used in dehydrogenation of alcohols, Reclamation alkylation, and hydrogenation of polyols.
