Solubility: It is soluble in phenol, aldehyde, ketone, glacial acetic acid, triethyl phosphate, ethyl acetoacetate and cyclohexylamine. It can be consolute with diethyl ether, alcohol, etc.
Safety: In room temperature and without moisture, dichloromethane is more stable than similar material (chloroform and carbon tetrachloride).

Use:
Since dichloromethane has strong solubility and low toxicity, it is used to produce safety film, makrolon, paint solvent, metal degreaser, smoke gas injection agent, releasing agent and paint remover.
Since dichloromethane is colorless liquid, it is widely used in pharmacy industry and chemical industry.
In China, dichloromethane is mainly used in film production and pharmaceutical field. Among these, film production takes up 50% of the total consumption, and pharmaceutical takes up 20% of the total consumption. Cleaning agent and chemical industry take up 20% of the total consumption. Other aspects take up 10%. It can also be used as secondary refrigerant. |
