Grading ring function |
|
Grading ring is commonly used in 110KV—220KV line, for its voltage is nonuniform. It is known to all that the voltage distribution of insulator is related to its earth capacity, the voltage will be distributed uniformly if the insulator has large earth capacity, otherwise nonuniform.
Compared with porcelain or glass insulators, the composite insulator has smaller earth capacity, thus the voltage is distributed uniformly. Theoretical calculation shows that, when the voltage exceeds 500KW, the electric field intensity of the electrified end of the whole composite insulator will exceed the breakdown strength of the air. The composite insulator should be mounted with grading ring with the grading effect and arc striking function. |
