3.Thermo-solar salts types
(1) Introduction of low-melting salt: The nitrate consisted of three constituents with low-melting-point is our developed special product to meet solar thermoelectric System application。The melting point of the nitate is 90 degrees centigrade. It can be operated for a wide temperature range from 100 to 300 degrees centigrade . it has no obvious decomposing at 300 degrees centigrade .Excellent substitute for thermal oil.
(2)Introduction of med-melting salt: med-melting salt is traditional nitrate consisted of two constituents, melting point is 220℃。Widely applies in metal surface heat treatment and higher temperature carrier in chemical production。This molten salt also applies in Parabolic Trough Solar Thermal Power Plant. Have greater stability operate at temperature range from 270℃ to 300 ℃。It has been used for decades in our country .
(3)Introduction of high-melting salt: This product is developed for concentrating solar power by our technicians. It is compound nitate consisted of three constituents. Melting point is about 230℃, Be used at 565℃. Maximum use temperature is about 620℃,Because its use temperature is too high, The high-melting salt will corrode equipment, So content of impurity is Control strictly in product , Content of chloride impurity is held within 0.001%. Quality of product reach or approach standard of analytically pure ,This is the best molten salt in the international like product up till now.

Application: Potassium nitate is raw material of gunpowder manufacturing , fuse, fireworks ect. applied to heat treating metals, used to make colour ceramic glaze in Ceramic Industry . As refiner agent is used inoptical glass. used to make thermo-solar salts, ect. Also used to make Benzylpenicillin Potassium , rifampicin in pharmaceutical industry. flotation reagent . used as fertilizers in agriculture. As foliar fertilizer used in economic crops such as vegetables , flowers, fruit trees ,ect.
4.Property of molten salt
The molten salt is low-melting mixture consisted of chemical pure nitrate.The miture wide spread adoption in industry is called thermal conductive salt, heat transfer salt (HTS for short). HTS consists of 40% sodium nitrite ,7% sodium nitrate,53%potassium nitrate.This molten alkali metal nitrate has the advantage of thermal conductivity , Fluidity and chemical stability. The melting point of HTS is about 142.2℃, Heat of Fusion - thermal is 78.986kJ/kg. average molecular weight is 89.2. HTS is very stable at 427 ℃. Can keep quality for long time without getting deteriorated. Has trifling corrosion to carbon steel or stainless steel. Begins to decompose slowly at temperatures over 450 degrees Celsius, Speed of decomposition begin to increase at temperatures over 550 degrees Celsius and decompose obviously at temperatures over 600 degrees Celsius.Meanwhile melting point will rise . The colour change from light amber to brown black. The decomposition reaction of molten salt is the main decomposition of sodium nitrite . chemical reaction equation : 5NaNO2=3NaNO3 +Na2O +N2,so melting point escalate gradually. 5、Operation of molten salt System
Molten salt System is closed-cycle heating system,molten salt is cycled in the system by pump. Decomposition of molten salt was maximum decrease because of isolation form the outside world. At the first time of heating molten salt , should be payed attention to the following points:
(1)The melting point of HTS is change with its component . the temperaturem of molt-en salt should controled at suitable temperature range. All molten salt pipes should bound by steam tracing or Electric Tracing to prevent the molten salt to coagulate in the pipes.
(2)During temperature of molten salt rise in temperature gradient, must check the heating tracer of molten salt carefully. When molten calt proceed big circulation in the whole system. Must pay attention to small circulation , Small circulating return valve can/t be closed completely.,must return one round to the molten salt to coagulate in the valves.
(3)Because molten salt is mixture, Its Density is non-uniformity , water content in salt is high, So must pay more attention to motor current during molten calt proceed big circulation .If current fluctuates strongly for long time ,must stop the pump and check molten salt system,find out the reason. The motor current will fluctuate under normal conditions, but at a modest rate, The motor current will declines gradually and trend stationary with increasing of temperaturem of molt-en salt .
