Properties
The pure substance of this product is white crystal will decompose into hydrogen in moist air. Its melting point is 18°C,density:0.905 g/ml, flash point: -10°C. It can dissolve in THF, dimethoxyethane, insoluble in diethyl ether. It is a kind of strong reducing complex, its reducibility resembles as LiAlH4. It is flammable and corrosive that must store in a closed, cool and dry environment.
Usage
In the organic synthesis industry, complexing metal hydride is a kind of ideal huydride, used in reducing aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids into alcohol and reducing nitro into amino, etc. It used in preparing high purity silane, and then as raw material to produce electronic-grade high-purity silicon.
