Properties
This product is a strong reducing agent, has a high stereoselectivity. Density: 0.89g/ml. Flash Point: -17°C.
Usage
This product is an exceptionally powerful and highly stereoselective reducing agent. It has been used for the diastereoselective reduction of the ketones to give the alcohol, selective 1,4-reduction of the enones by conjugate addition of hydride to afford ketones or alconhols, conjugate of the double bond and iodode. It was also found to be an efficient reagent for the desymmetrization of meso-diesters, dehalogenation of monohalopyridenes, rearrangement of 5-trimethylsilylthebaine, and deprotection of N-carbomethoxy-substituted opioids to N-noropioids. At low temperatures, it can effectively reduce conjugated carbonyl compounds.
