Brief description:
Natamycin is an antifungal agent with broad spectrum. It can inhibit the growth of various moulds and yeast as well as the generation of fungal-toxin.
Natamycin is similar to white to cream-color crystalline powder, almost odorless, m.p. 280?(decomposed), molecular formula C₃₃H₄₇O₁₃, relative molecular weight 665.75u, Structural formula shown as Diagram 1.    

Natamycin has very low solubility in water and polar organic solvents; insoluble in non-polar solvents. Water solubility in room temperature is 30~50mg/l. Easily soluble in basic and acid water solution.
