A lanocetyl co-acetate formed by the reaction of acetic anhydride and lanolin alcohol mixed with high purity cetyl alcohol. Semi solid to solid in nature depending on storage temperatures, but will melt easily when heated above 35 degrees C.
Very pale yellow in colour with a very feint odour, it has very low viscosity and high spreadability and as such is readily and quickly absorbed by the skin without being sticky or tacky. It is water resistant and possesses good properties of emolliency as well as having excellent solubility and solvent properties. Ideal for use in baby oils, suntan oils and lotions where resistance to water is important and as a spreader and pigment binder for make – up fluids or creams. It will also promote a glossing effect in hair spray and lip preparations and acts as a de - greaser for applications that include mineral oils.
